iGift Gift Express

Imagines all-in-one creation stations in museums, rail stations and airports where anyone can turn a world of their own into a physical gift. Its first object, the Museum Explorer, is a 70 mm character made with Tripo H3.1, still digital.

Description

From scaling services to scaling creativity. iGift Gift Express imagines a future in which everyone can author a world and give it physical form. People choose its inhabitants, places and meaning; friends create together; and personal imagination becomes a gift that carries their relationship. This object is one concrete expression of that larger ambition.

Gift Express envisions all-in-one creation stations in museums, streets, rail stations and airports, connecting capture, world composition, gift design and fabrication handoff, so that public spaces become entry points for creativity and local culture becomes a starting point for personal expression. A City of Gifts would connect creators across distance through permission-based remixing with preserved attribution, and shared creation and distributed fabrication could yield many unique gifts from one common creative system.

The current model is a first test of that future digital-to-physical system. Its first digital object is the Museum Explorer: a fictional 70 mm character on an integrated plinth, a keepsake for the friend who keeps exploring with you. Tripo H3.1 generated the character from a synthetic reference image, and the delivered STL was optimized and repaired into one closed, connected body with 160,100 triangles, measuring 47.5 × 38.75 × 70 mm.

For now it is a digital model only. The images are actual renders of the delivered STL, labeled as digital renders; no physical print, real-use photo or all-in-one machine exists yet, and material selection, minimum features, supports, slicing and fabrication remain untested. The piece builds on the team's existing iGift / PRESENT concept, and not every element began from scratch during the event; the October work produced the Tripo-generated character, the optimized geometry, the 70 mm closed STL candidate, model checks and the multi-view technical presentation. Claude and OpenAI Codex assisted with the concept, code and copy; geometry preparation and repair used Manifold3D with Python geometry utilities, and the renders were made directly from the STL with NumPy and Pillow.

How Tripo was used

The core 3D asset was generated with Tripo H3.1.

  • Character: Tripo H3.1 turned a synthetic reference image of a fictional character into the Museum Explorer.
  • Toward fabrication: the model was then optimized, scaled to 70 mm and repaired into a closed STL candidate for future fabrication, exploring a repeatable path from personal imagination to a physical gift within the wider iGift vision. What exists so far is model files and clearly labeled digital renders; nothing has been printed yet.
