PaintYourWorld was inspired by the author's four-year-old nephew. He has just learned to use a pen and loves drawing everywhere. Paper is no longer enough: his canvas has spread to whole walls, floors and all kinds of furniture, which his mom strictly forbids, of course. The author remembers loving to draw everywhere as a kid too. Maybe everyone is born with an urge to create, and as we grow up, that urge and inspiration get worn away by everything else.
So the author made a simple world you can paint however you like. Color it according to your own ideas and taste, or just scribble all over it; all that matters is that you like it. Just like the nephew, you can draw wherever you want. Through painting and companionship, fill the quiet world with color bit by bit until it becomes a warm little place of your own. It is a gift for the author's nephew.
The game was made in Godot. Its low-poly models were generated with Tripo's Smart Mesh and then simplified further by hand; the easel, chairs and other models in the middle of the room come from another creator's work on Sketchfab.
