Description
Time Over Gifts is a 3D-printed resin sculpture of two cupped hands holding an hourglass, surrounded by delicate butterflies. The hands represent the act of giving, but what they offer is not an object. It is time itself, slowly running through the glass. The butterflies add life and movement to the scene, and remind us how fragile and fleeting beautiful moments are.
The gift is for the people we love, and for anyone who has ever postponed a call, a dinner or a hug because they were "too busy." The team believes the most valuable thing we can give is not something we buy but the time we choose to spend with someone. Objects fade and get forgotten in a drawer, while shared moments become memories that stay with us. Their motto says it all: "Less gifts. More time. More memories."
The experience is calm and reflective. Looking at the hourglass, you notice that every grain of sand is a moment you can never get back. The hands make the gift feel personal and human, as if someone were passing that time directly to you. It leaves you with a simple question: who do you want to spend your time with today?
To make it, the team first generated a concept image with Tripo from their own text prompt, then used Tripo image-to-3D to turn the entire scene into a single model in one pass. The model was sliced and printed on an ELEGOO Saturn 4 resin printer in Anycubic standard beige resin, then cleaned in an isopropyl alcohol wash station. The concept, the name, the motto, the concept image, the 3D model and the print were all made from scratch during the hackathon.
How Tripo was used
Tripo was the core driver of the project, from the concept image to the printable model.
- Concept image: generated with Tripo text-to-image from the team's own prompt.
- 3D model: Tripo image-to-3D turned the whole scene (the cupped hands, the hourglass and the butterflies) into a single 3D model in one pass, taking the idea to printable geometry in minutes.
- Into the physical world: the model then went through a slicer and onto a resin printer, bringing the digital world into a physical object.
