Try it live Description
Untraveled Holiday is a short first-person puzzle game, a gift for anyone who keeps putting off their holiday and keeps saying, "I'll take a break when the work is done."
You begin in an office with a suitcase and a photograph of the coast. Line up the photograph with your surroundings and place it, and a doorway opens onto the sea. Find the next photographs to restore a stone bridge and reveal a gazebo beside a lighthouse. Each photograph brings another part of your holiday within reach.
The photographs are rendered from the actual 3D scene. When you place one, the view aligns with the spot it was taken from, and the arch, bridge or gazebo in it becomes part of the playable world. The bridge uses collision and surface-height sampling based on its generated mesh, so you can really walk across it.
The experience is quiet and unhurried: sunlit courtyards, ocean ambience and a gentle instrumental soundtrack, with no timer and no combat. The destination is simply somewhere to sit for a while.
Built with Three.js and Blender, the game runs in the browser and supports Chinese and English. An in-game gallery presents the models made with Tripo, and the source code, Blender scenes and asset records are public on GitHub. The background track, Coastal Calm, was generated by the author with Suno.
How Tripo was used
The 10 models generated with Tripo went straight into the game, serving as both scenery and the levels themselves.
- 10 game-ready models: the suitcase, instant camera, postcard stand, coastal arch, stone bridge, gazebo and lighthouse, among others, were all generated with Tripo.
- The backbone of the puzzles: they are the photo pickup points, landmarks and destinations of the three photo puzzles. Once a photo is aligned, the arch, bridge and gazebo become 3D spaces you can walk into, with collision enabled.
- Who does what: the surrounding buildings and map were made in Blender, while photo projection alignment, scene transitions and interaction were built with Three.js.
- An in-game gallery showcases the Tripo models.
