Description

Someone once left a light on for a stranger. Void Salvage is a gift for people who still look up at the stars: recover forgotten objects, reunite their voices and give their stories a new home.

Depart Station Seven in the Wanderer and explore six lost sectors. Inside a 3D ruin, choose a signal, scan it and lock the tractor wave three times. Different signals hold specific artifact families, so every next destination has a purpose. Recoveries open further routes, and returning to the station recharges your sails for free.

The Echo Workshop turns collecting into six narrative puzzles. Each needs a particular pair of artifacts, sometimes from distant sectors. Follow the clues, align their sound waves without a timer and choose your answer for the future. Research restores an original animated memory projection and a duet of the two voices. The objects stay in your museum, and your answer stays in the archive.

You can give a recovered object, or an entire restored memory, to someone through a real 3D gift link. They unwrap it without signing in, inspect either object, hear its voice or the duet, see the shared memory and read your message, then pass the story on with words of their own. Opening a gift leaves their own journey intact. In the end, your discoveries and chosen replies complete a final letter.

The bilingual browser game supports touch and keyboard controls, portable save archives, STL, WAV and PNG exports and a downloadable build. Code, fiction, memory projections and synthesized audio were created for this entry with Codex assistance. Development started from an empty directory on October 3, 2026; apart from Three.js open-source files, kept with their MIT license, no code, models, audio or artwork were reused from other projects.

How Tripo was used

All 34 3D assets in this world come from Tripo H3.1, each generated from the project's original prompts.

  • 34 assets: the Wanderer ship, sixteen artifact sculptures, seven sector landmarks and ten props.
  • Optimized for play: source models were optimized by category to 60k, 100k and 30k triangles with 2K, 2K and 1K PBR textures, then integrated into exploration, recovery, STL export and gifts.
  • Sculptures chosen by origin: each artifact family has two sculptures, and the sector an artifact comes from decides which one appears, consistently across the museum, exports and gifts.
  • Documented pipeline: Tripo task IDs and source and runtime hashes record how every asset was made.
