Description

What if you could give your dog a whole world? A Gift for My Dog — A Dog's Dream is a playable browser world where you walk through a dog's dream: a living room scaled up into canyons, an endless fetch field, and a glowing ball that is always half a meter away.

Collect 5 gifts across the dream zones, and the dream finally settles back into a real dog bed: "this world is for you." The author made it as a gift for their own dog.

It is a single-file Three.js web build with fully local dependencies, running at 60 fps at 1440p with 48 instanced objects across 5 zones, real-time shadows and bloom. Play with touch on mobile or WASD on desktop.

All 26+ 3D assets were generated through the Tripo API during the hackathon, and the whole pipeline, from generation and rigging to animation and engine import, is scripted end to end with no manual work in 3D software.

How Tripo was used

Tripo drove the entire 3D pipeline: all 26+ assets were generated through Tripo API v3, scripted end to end and unattended, with no manual DCC work.

  • Hero props: the sofa, bed, gift box and dog bed were made with H3.1 text-to-3D.
  • Mass props: balls, bones, slippers and plants came from P1 low-poly generation, rendered as 48 instanced objects at 60 fps.
  • Floating islands: concept frames were turned into style-consistent islands with image-to-3D.
  • The dog: generated, auto-rigged as a quadruped (rig-check plus rig-v2.0), with walk and idle animations retargeted using animate_in_place, then dropped straight into the engine.
  • One script: from prompt to engine-ready GLB, covering text- and image-to-3D, delighting, PBR, auto-rigging and retargeting, all chained by a single Python client.
