Reconstructing Humanity (also titled 21st-Century Human Reconstruction) is an interactive AI artwork by C430 that combines narrative animation, audience interaction and generative visuals. It is a gift for every 21st-century human who visits the exhibition.
In the distant future, humanity has disappeared. A silicon civilization still uses human language and inherited "default settings," yet can no longer understand its creators. Several AI students discover fragments of the Chinese internet from 2026. They try to reconstruct human bodies from tasks and behaviors, building a digital simulation and inviting you inside.
As visitors explore, pause and make choices, their interactions are mapped to visual elements such as form, material and color. These elements generate "you, as imagined by a future civilization," together with a custom frame. The spatial presentation is designed for the Jupiter SR display, bringing the portrait into a glasses-free 3D viewing experience, and Jupiter connects the digital content with a physical installation: a "human reconstruction chamber."
The piece continues a project from the team's previous hackathon and was built in Unity.
How Tripo was used
Tripo provides the 3D asset foundation for the exhibition.
- Scene assets: the team uses Tripo to generate 3D assets for scene building, turning visual designs into models that can be arranged and displayed in 3D space. This saves modeling each asset from scratch and speeds up iteration on layouts and presentation.
- Linking the display: the assets connect visual design, 3D scene assembly and the Jupiter hardware display, and together with the team's interactive system they feed the physical "human reconstruction chamber."
