Description
ArtToy.cc is an AI-native designer toy platform that connects generative 3D imagination with physical making. The author believes everyone carries feelings that words can't express: solitude, courage, nostalgia, whimsical dreams. ArtToy.cc turns those intangible emotions into one-of-a-kind, collectible 3D art toys, a refuge for the soul that you can actually touch.
It works in four steps:
- Emotional prompting: describe a feeling and a style (vinyl toy, cyberpunk, claymation), or upload a character sketch.
- 3D generation: the Tripo API quickly generates a textured 3D model with optimized, watertight geometry.
- Interactive showcase: inspect the toy from every angle, pose it, and adjust lighting and materials in the browser with Three.js.
- Into the physical world: export a 3D-printable STL or OBJ file in one click, ready for SLA or FDM printers or for artisan production. HeyGears powers the physical making, turning digital toys into collectibles you can hold.
The gift is for every dreamer who feels out of place: grown-ups who still believe in wonder, and anyone looking for an emotional anchor in the physical world. Here, anyone can make a companion toy that carries their own memories and stories. The author hopes to move designer toys from mass production to personal customization, cutting the time it takes to create a 3D toy from weeks to minutes.
Before the hackathon, the author had only registered the domain, set up a static page skeleton and checked technical feasibility. During the event they built the Tripo API text-to-3D and image-to-3D workflow, the real-time Three.js showcase, the 3D-print export step (STL/OBJ conversion and wall-thickness checks), the "A Gift for ___" themed interactions and a bilingual Chinese and English interface.
How Tripo was used
Tripo is ArtToy.cc's generative backbone, replacing the days of manual modeling a designer toy usually takes.
- Generation workflow: the Tripo API is fully integrated into an automated text-to-3D and image-to-3D pipeline, so a written description or an uploaded character sketch becomes a 3D art toy.
- Printable meshes: the output is a textured, watertight 3D mesh that can be previewed in the browser showcase, then exported as STL or OBJ for 3D printing.
