Sculpted Phone Case

Description

Sculpted Phone Case brings sculpture into everyday life. In the world the author imagines, art no longer stays in showcases, galleries and museums; it lives on an object you pick up, touch and use every day.

The author chose a phone case as the canvas, shrinking the depth, detail and strength of traditional sculpture into something you can carry: a phone case that is also a miniature sculpture to hold. Unlike an ordinary case with a flat print, it is something you can really feel, not just see. As the light changes, the layers, contours and details of the relief keep shifting, and in your hand the raised surface gives tactile feedback. The case goes from a simple protective tool to an art experience you can carry and play with anytime.

The gift is for everyone who loves art and self-expression and wants to keep some beauty in daily life, and for anyone not content with merely functional objects who wants a little more imagination and companionship in ordinary days. The author hopes to take sculpture off the pedestal and into life, as a small work of art that stays by your side.

The author made it by combining Tripo with ZBrush, with source material drawn from the author's own ideas combined with GPT. A simple version had already been generated with Tripo before the hackathon; the event was spent refining it toward a physical piece.

How Tripo was used

The case's sculpted form was made by combining Tripo with ZBrush. The author had done a simple Tripo generation before the hackathon and spent the event building on it, refining the design toward a physical piece.
