MEGALODON DROP

A first-person sky-high slide game: race down a broken track suspended above the ocean, steer through freefall to catch the next section, and if you can't recover, a megalodon is already waiting where you'll hit the water.

Description

MEGALODON DROP is a first-person high-altitude slide game, and a gift to the part of us that fears losing control but keeps moving forward. You start far above the ocean and race downward on an open slide suspended in the sky. The track is not continuous: some sections suddenly break away and throw you into open air. Your momentum carries on, and you have to steer during freefall to reach the next slide below.

On the track, the challenge is staying inside the narrow path. In the air, it instantly becomes a fight to recover direction and find a landing point. The ocean is dangerous too, with several megalodons patrolling below. When you can no longer recover and are falling toward the sea, a nearby shark moves to the predicted impact point, rises, opens its jaws and waits. The first-person fall continues until you are swallowed, followed by Game Over. Checkpoints let you restart from the latest safe point instead of starting over.

The idea behind the game is simple: the road ahead will not always stay beneath us. Falling may be unavoidable, but we can still search for direction and try again. Key 3D assets were created with Tripo, then refined and assembled in Blender.

How Tripo was used

The game's predator, the megalodon, comes from Tripo.

  • Generation: Tripo v3.1 generated the textured megalodon base mesh. Codex turned the brief into a prompt, submitted it through a Node.js client, polled the generation and downloaded the GLB.
  • Processing: a headless Blender Python pipeline aligned and scaled the mesh, added a Body/Head/Jaw/Tail rig and a mouth anchor, created Swim and JawOpen animations and exported a game-ready model.
  • Integration: Codex brought it into the game with the Three.js GLTFLoader and checked orientation, animation and fallback behavior.
