Description
SPRIG-33 is a gift for the new beginning of humanity. The story opens in September 2033: an experimental weapon developed during a war triggers an unprecedented chemical reaction, turning almost all of Earth's atmosphere toxic and bringing humanity to the brink of extinction.
In one of the last safe havens, scientist Dr. Scott Mayer succeeds in creating Luz, a genetically modified plant that can purify the air. Too old to venture into the outside world, he entrusts his only son, Andrew, with the mission of bringing this hope to the few survivors scattered across the planet. To keep him alive, Scott creates SPRIG-33, a small service droid that carries Luz inside a glass dome and sends the purified air directly to Andrew's mask.
After a silent farewell to his father, Andrew sets out with SPRIG-33 across the ruins of a world he believes to be dead. But soon he discovers that Earth is not dead. It has changed, and it has learned to defend itself.
