Sustaining Force

A sculpture about peace: two intertwined bodies push against each other yet hold each other up, balanced in tension. The artist turned a drawing into a model with Tripo image-to-3D, refined it and 3D-printed it.

Sustaining Force

Description

Sustaining Force is a sculpture about peace. It imagines a world where different forces collide, yet find balance with one another. Here, peace is not a state in which all movement has stopped, but an ongoing process of accepting each other's forces and adjusting to stay in balance.

At its center are two intertwined bodies. Through them, the artist explores how forces that push against each other can, paradoxically, become forces that sustain each other, even when conflict and tension have not completely disappeared. This world, where different forces coexist and find balance, is offered as a gift for peace, to anyone in need of a place to pause and rest.

The piece began as a drawing. The artist turned a drawing of the intertwined bodies into 3D data with Tripo image-to-3D, used partial generation to correct inconsistencies in the form, and rebuilt the results into a single model. The model was then refined to match the artist's sculptural intent and realized through 3D printing. ZBrush and KeyShot were also part of the process.

How Tripo was used

Tripo connected drawing, 3D generation, reconstruction and physical sculpture into one workflow.

  • Image-to-3D: turned the drawing of intertwined bodies into 3D data and generated the overall form.
  • Partial generation: corrected inconsistencies in the form, and the results were rebuilt into a single model.
  • The printed model: refined to the artist's sculptural intent, then 3D-printed as a physical sculpture.
