Try it live Description
Encounters is an AI agent app for recording the things you meet for the first time, made by its authors as a gift to their future selves. They believe a person's inner world is shaped by how widely they see, and every new encounter quietly expands it. Without a record, though, those moments fade and leave only a faint scratch in memory.
In daily life or on the road, a photo or a voice note is all it takes to capture something new. The AI responds by telling you what it is and whether you have seen it before, and at the end of a trip it arranges your records into a travel journal. Meanwhile, the physical objects in your photos are turned into 3D models and placed in a 3D "memory universe".
The universe grows as you record more. The authors imagine that one day everyone could have an inner landscape of their own and be invited into other people's; for collectors, it is also a way to keep treasured objects for good. They also plan to extend it into a game about revisiting memories.
The rest of the Encounters app existed before the hackathon; the memory-universe module is what the team built during it.
How Tripo was used
Turning the objects in your photos into 3D is done with Tripo API image-to-3D. The agent first uses a multimodal model to find the physical objects in a photo, then calls the Tripo API to generate a 3D model of each one; the backend renders the models as particle animations and loads them into the memory universe.
