Description
IEUM reconnects people with the pets they have lost. It turns their photos into a companion they can meet again in a 3D virtual world, and it was made for pet parents who long to see their beloved companions once more.
When a pet passes away, the photos remain, but you can no longer watch them explore the room, reach out to pet them or play together. IEUM brings those interactions into a virtual home, giving people a new way to express the love that remains. Its value is personal connection through interaction: photos of one specific, beloved pet become the starting point for something the owner can take part in, beyond looking at a saved image or video.
It starts with your own cat photos. AI prepares a full-body reference image, you review it, and Tripo creates a textured 3D model. Then you can meet your companion in the browser: watch it move, offer it food, pet it and play with a teaser toy. It works on desktop and mobile.
"IEUM" is Korean for connection, and the name defines the team's purpose: using 3D to reconnect people who long to see their pets with the companions they can no longer meet. The current prototype focuses on cats, and model and movement quality are still being refined.
How Tripo was used
Tripo powers IEUM's core experience: it turns prepared pet images into textured 3D models, complete with rigging and a walking animation.
- Image-to-3D: AI prepares a full-body reference image from the user's cat photos, the user reviews it, and the Tripo API generates a textured 3D model.
- Rigging and animation: Tripo rigs each model and gives it a walking animation.
- Pipeline: the Tripo API works alongside OpenAI image preparation, Supabase storage and a Three.js virtual home; the team's code adapts the models and adds interactive behaviors, completing the photo-to-companion workflow.
