Description

Spielboard is an online creative canvas, made as a gift for creators who have outgrown presets and want the controls back. It pairs a canvas with the flexibility of ComfyUI: import your own workflow as a runnable node, connect it to other generation steps, and build alongside collaborators on the same project.

Tripo is the default path for generating 3D assets. Creators can also bring their own provider keys and see their generation history and costs in USD. The author describes it as a creative control room: ideas branch, work moves forward in parallel, and the tools adapt to the creator's process.

Before the hackathon, Spielboard was already a working node-based creative app: image, video and audio generation, Tripo-based 3D generation, ComfyUI workflow import, bring-your-own provider keys, cost tracking and basic canvas sharing all predate the event. What was built during it is mostly collaboration and control:

  • Signed-in live presence on the canvas, with synchronized editing
  • Discussions on canvases and media, with visual annotations and time-stamped video comments
  • Project-wide sharing, with clearer controls over guest spending
  • New ways to browse, organize, submit and track media
  • Better provider-key control, and clearer generation timing and costs

How Tripo was used

Tripo is Spielboard's default path for 3D, with Tripo's image-to-splat (Gaussian splats) as the default image-to-3D route.

  • Into the scene: instead of ending at a downloadable asset, the output becomes part of an interactive scene. Creators can layer 3D subjects, position a camera and feed the composition into connected image and video workflows.
  • Demo assets: the 3D assets in the cover and walkthrough were generated with Tripo, including its image-to-splat generation.

In the author's words, Tripo provides the spatial starting point; Spielboard makes it controllable, repeatable and part of a collaborative production process.
